Materials for Loan

Loan Policy:

A variety of books and DVDs are available for loan to residents in STAR NET Region IV. Click here to see a map. Residents in Region IV may borrow up to five library resources for up to three weeks. STAR NET will send the materials free of charge. It is the borrower’s responsibility to return the materials to STARNET by the due date using the library courier system or using the prepaid postage provided by STAR NET. If resources are not returned within 20 days after the due date, the borrower will be billed for replacement costs. Contact [email protected], if you have any questions.

Browsing Our Library:

STAR NET Region IV’s Resource Library holdings can be browsed at our Libib URL which is https://www.libib.com/u/starnetiv. Our holdings have been categorized using Libib’s “Collections” feature, so think of “Collections” in Libib as categories. Using the search bar at the top, allows for searching in all categories at once, or the search can be limited to one category by clicking the box below the search bar. If you are looking specifically for STAR NET’s Apples Video programs, you may be interested to know that you can view the latest Apples Videos and selected videos from the past on this YouTube channel.

Getting a Patron Account: 

To become a patron of our library, please email [email protected] and ask for a Libib account (users cannot set up their own patron account on Libib). We will require you to have an account on our website, and we will ask where we can ship your resources (your local library, your home, or your work address).  A Libib account will be set up for you using the email address you provide and a password will be emailed to you.

Requesting Resources:

On our Libib site, found here,  you can place holds on resources that you would like to borrow (up to five) by clicking the “Add Hold” button under the book’s image. Your hold choices will be in a queue at the bottom of the page. When you have finished choosing, select “Complete” to login (with your patron email and password) and submit your request. Someone from STAR NET will get your request by email and will reply to confirm your choices and contact information before mailing the resources to you (no cost to borrower). If it’s been a couple business days and you haven’t been contacted about your requests, please email [email protected]

Returning Resources:

Materials can be returned in the same way you received it.  If you received it through the library courier system, then return it to the library following the directions in the package.  If you received it in the mail, there is a prepaid envelope in your package, and you should use that to return the materials.  It is the borrower’s responsibility to return the materials by the due date.  If you would prefer to drop off materials at our office, email [email protected] to arrange a time. If resources are not returned within 20 days after the due date, the borrower will be billed for replacement costs.
