Description: The influential power of sensory information on the nervous system cannot be understated. Sensory experiences have the power to arouse and improve attention and sensory experiences have the power to distract and dysregulate. Children who have problems with processing sensory information are often misunderstood and held responsible for behaviors that are not under their control. In this Webinar you will be introduced to the theory of sensory integration as well as the eight sensory systems. We will talk about signs and symptoms of sensory processing disorder. And, you will learn the ways in which these problems put children at risk for social, emotional, and educational problems. Most importantly, you’ll leave with some strategies and technique.
